rainbow

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor.

Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.
His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together ...

Lady
Lady did not beat the odds even though her foster mom and friends did everything and more. Lady had an ultrasound and she had many tumors that no one could fix. She was loved till the very end. She was humanly put to sleep on 10-30-07 May she find peace and happiness over the rainbow bridge. May she never feel pain but all the love that was given to her up until her last breath. Thank you Lori and Janet for the over and beyond you gave to her. Lady is NOT ready for adoption just yet but needs help with her medical care. This poor cat was left on the streets scared, alone, hungry, and injured. She was rescued from the streets by a Rescue volunteer who saw the cat dragging her hind leg. By the time the volunteer pulled her car into a parking lot to help, the cat was lying down and unable to get up. Realizing how badly injured the cat was, the volunteer called another volunteer to help take Lady to the Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center for treatment. Examination revealed that Lady had been hit by a car and had a fractured pelvis along with other injuries. She was in critical condition for over 24 hours and is now recovering in foster care. Her vet bills are over $1,300.00 so far. Please help by sending a donation for her care.

Laura had come to us very young. She touched so many hearts. Never being just right she had so many tests never to find out what really happened. Only being with us for 5 months we will all miss her so. Her adoptive Mom will have memories, and may she be in peace over the Rainbow Bridge.

Lila
Lila was left in a woman's yard in a cage with a garbage bag partially covering the cage. It was pouring rain out with thunder and lightening, she was scared to death and did not know what she did to deserve to be treated this way. NAR took her from the woman, she was in a safe and dry place. She was a sweet and friendly cat who was just looking for someone to give her a forever home. Lila developed an issue with one of her eyes and was taken to an opthomalogist. The doctor felt it was some form of cancer behind the eye not in the eye. Before an aspirate could be done to determine if it was cancer, she stopped eating. Lila was humanely euthanized on July 15, 2009.

Little No Name
Little No Name was a feral kitty that was trapped, spayed, vaccinated and returned to the only home she's ever known. We received an horrifying email that today she was inside a car's motor when owner started their car. Her leg was completely mutilated. Calls were made to PACCA but there was no answer, no help. Thank you Jayme and Boulevard Animal Hospital for your immediate response to help this terrified little girl who was in unimaginable pain. She was humanely euthanized to end her suffering. She had no name, no human family, never knew what it was like to be loved. But she mattered.
