Nicole is a survivor in every sense of the word – her story is heartbreaking and inspirational at the same time, and now we are in search of her fairy tale ending.  Nicole was living on the streets in a tough neighborhood, dodging cars on a busy street, surviving off of food scraps in the garbage and whatever people would throw her way.  Nicole and her kitten were rescued and brought in to safety, just in time before the cold weather started.  The neighbors said Nicole had had many kittens, not many lucky to survive.  Once in rescue, Nicole was spayed and vaccinated, so that raising a family, disease, and hunger were now going to be distant memories for her.  As she was recovering from her spay surgery, a lump was discovered on a mammary gland and a second surgery was scheduled.  The mass came back as an aggressive form of cancer, but her other tests came back showing that the cancer has not yet spread.  Nicole is recovering well, and in great spirits – eating well, she is affectionate to her caregiver, she wants to be a part of everything.  However, because Nicole does not like the other pets she lives with, she is currently quarantined by herself, and not getting the love and affection she so deserves.  Her prognosis is guarded; we do not know if Nicole has months or years ahead of her, but she has been a trooper through it all and is deserving of a home of her own to live out her time left.  Nicole’s fairy tale ending would be a home where she can be the center of your attention, and live in comfort with nary a care about when she will get her next meal or if she will have to find shelter from rain and snow.
