Patrick was found wandering the streets of suburban Philadelphia the bitterly cold week before Christmas 2005. When he was brought to us, he was seizuring and unable to stand. Our initial thought was that had been hit by a car, but X-rays, blood work and an ultrasound donated by an area specialist showed his problems were due to starvation and neglect. Even though it was nothing serious, his body was in a very unstable condition, and we were not sure if he would survive. Unable to eat on his own, we worked out a feeding schedule, and the staff took turns hand feeding him for the next 6 weeks, including nights and weekends, until he had enough strength and the will to eat on his own. He gradually grew stronger, and HEAVIER from a light 10.5# he is now a very substantial 18#. He was born around December 1998. Now that he is all better, it is time for him to find a forever home. He is being housed at our veterinary clinic, but needs and deserves someone of his own he currently lives with two cats a male and a female and our doctors dog he clearly prefers female cats, even letting little Helen eat from his food dish (his favorite thing is food) and dogs he can do without he seems to enjoy sending the 80# Labrador, Gemma, running for cover and will not hesitate to chase the 22# Rocky, our other house cat. Patrick likes to play with toys and have his tummy rubbed when he becomes comfortable with you.
