Meet Hammy! Hammy is an adorable male Syrian hamster. He has a friendly, calm personality and is completely tame. He is well cared for, used to being gently handled and has never bitten anyone in his foster home. Approx DOB is 6/2020. Hammy loves exploring the world outside of his tank and likes to be softly pet. He loves human interaction and will always come over to the side of the tank and say hi when anyone comes into the room. His favorite treats are carrots, lettuce, strawberries, and dried bananas. He absolutely loves Whimzees! Like all hamsters, Hammy is nocturnal and usually wakes up at about 9 PM and goes to sleep around 6-7 AM. He loves running on his silent wheel and does not make much noise at night. Hammy comes with his 55-gallon tank, Carolina Storm silent wheel, a variety of different hides and toys, some treats, food and water bowls, and, of course, his sand litter box (he is potty trained and pees in his litter box). He eats Higgins Sunburst food and uses Kaytee Clean and Cozy bedding. For sand, we use Super Naturals Premium Aquarium Substrate. Hammy would make a great addition to your home and a cute little companion. His foster home is looking for someone responsible who will give him the utmost care, and the love and attention that he deserves. Hamsters are crepuscular creatures. Like many other mammals, hamsters are more likely to be awake and active at dawn or dusk. This isn’t to say that some hamsters don’t ever stay awake all night. Much like humans, individual hamsters have their own sleep patterns. They aren’t all awake and playful at exactly the same time. This does mean you may not get quality time with them since most won't wake up until evening/night time.
