Hi! My name is Amelie. I spent the first year of my life on the streets in Philadelphia. The first few months were in a home, but the next 6 or so were out on the street. I was fed by a nice mail lady, who would keep an eye on me. But then, according to the neighbors, I was abused & given illegal drugs, to see how I reacted. The mail lady came to feed me, & I kept falling down. That’s when she called my foster/ rescuers to help. They contacted the wonderful people at NAR, & said they would help me! I went to their home to start my new life!

They took my little 6 & 1/2 lb body to the vet, & saw that I had a fractured pelvis. I was pregnant too. I stayed in a crate to heal. I was taken to be spayed. Now that I started feeling better,  I love to run & play with the other cats in my foster home, like the kitten I never got to be! I’m very curious, & brave! I love learning about everything in the house ( especially the fish in the fish tank!). I love to explore & climb the cat tree! I also love playing with my toys. I’m still confused about what “ petting” is. However, I like to sit with my foster parents & purr. I get along with the resident dog, too. I will need some patience & time when it comes to cuddling & petting. I need to know that I won’t be hurt again. I love being pain free & am looking forward to a new forever home and a family with patience till I over come my fears and insecurities.
