Hi new friends , I'm Andre! I’m glad I caught your eye-I’m hoping we will be a purrfect match!

Since a gorgeous guy like me is sure to have lots of suitors, I figure I'd get right to the point and let you know what I'm all about, and what I'm seeking in a forever family!

Please read my entire bio to make sure we are a good match!

*My new owner should be an experienced cat owner with veterinary references
*My new home does not have dogs or young children
*My new family will be patient and ensure that I have a proper acclimation period
*As a Persian, I have a long, luxurious mane. But it takes work to look this fabulous! My new family should be prepared to provide the necessary grooming that Persians require (read up on it if you're not familiar)
*I eat a prescription dry food and will need to continue eating this in my new home

I was found on the streets, along with several of my siblings, after we were tossed out by our owner. Oh boy the great outdoors certainly weren't very good to me-I was skinny and matted!

I'm still shy and quiet in my foster home, but I've slowly started to come out of my shell. I get along great with other cats and would love to have a sibling in my new home.

I also have special needs...I don't really understand, but here is what my human friend has to say:

***Andre has some health issues that will need to be managed, perhaps for the rest of his life.  When he first was rescued, his bloodwork revealed a dramatically increased white blood cell count, which could be indicative of everything from infection, parasites, and allergies, to inflammation and injury.  He also suffers from chronic soft stool, though he is very good at using his litterbox without accidents.  After numerous rounds of antibiotics, anti-parasite treatments, special diets to manage his diarrhea, and repeat bloodwork, his white blood cell count is returning closer to normal.  He is tentatively diagnosed with IBD (Irritable Bowel Disease), but he has responded really well to the special diet.  It is our veterinarian’s recommendation that he remain on this diet for the foreseeable future, perhaps life-long.  Andre will also require regular grooming and sanitary shaves, especially when his IBD flares, to prevent stool from becoming stuck to his fur.***
